A couple of great short films …

I’ve seen two really good online short films this week, and I like them both.

The first is “I’m Here” by Spike Jonze, a love story, which you can see on Youtube through these Ebert links.  It was sponsored by Absolut. Spike Jonze can make a lamp interesting, (anybody but me remember that?), and he has a lot more than light in this one.

Kanye’s made a strange and beautiful  short film called Runaway, viewable on YouTube. It features  Selita Ebanks, who I have never seen before, and she’s beautiful and a terriffic actress.  There’s lots of music in the movie, and it’s good… Kanye is coming into his prime, in my opinion.

Kanye is smart.  He’s releasing a new song every week in advance of dropping his new album.  Basically… he’s out ahead of the pirates — why steal his songs when he’s giving them to you?

Go check out Runaway on YouTube

Great song — brilliant concept.

To paraphrase ML King …

“The arc of history is long,
but it bends towards beauty”
